Installing BullGuard

Step 1

The first window to appear is the Welcome screen. It advises you to close any unsaved documents as certain steps in the installation process may require a restart to work properly. Click Next to continue.

Before proceeding with installing the application, users will need to agree to the EULA (End User Licence Agreement) which presents the rights and responsibilities of both user and BullGuard Ltd. To have BullGuard installed in its default location, simply click Next to start the install process.

Click on the Customize… button to select the location where BullGuard is installed. The default location is in the Windows default Program Files path. To change it, simply type another location or click on Browse to indicate a new location. Click on the Install button to continue.

Step 2

If you already have a version of BullGuard installed on the computer, you will need to uninstall it before proceeding with the installation process. Click on the Next button to uninstall BullGuard.

Step 3

The uninstall process is silently managed by the installer tool which will also save your current BullGuard settings and preferences.

Step 4

You will need to restart the computer to complete the uninstall process. The Restart now option is selected by default and clicking on Finish will restart the PC. Choose I want to manually restart later to restart the computer at a later time.

 Must restart

Note that the install process will not continue further unless you restart your computer. Also, make sure to save any documents you have open before clicking on the Finish button.

Step 5

Right after restart, the process will automatically resume and install BullGuard on your computer. Please allow the installation to finish and do not close the window while BullGuard is being installed. As soon the progress bar reaches 100%, a new screen will appear.

Step 6

The next screen after the install process is completed will ask you to restart your computer to allow the recent changes to take effect. Choose Restart now to restart the computer or I want to manually restart later to postpone restarting the computer.

Starting BullGuard before restarting the computer

Starting BullGuard before restarting the computer will generate module startup errors and may lead to corrupted BullGuard files.

Please make sure that you saved any open document before restarting the computer to avoid losing any unsaved information.
