By default BullGuard is set to start automatically at the Windows startup and at the first start up it will also display the registration screen.
At the registration screen you can choose whether to register a new account or to login with an existing account. You can also configure a proxy server if you use one for your internet connection.
No, I want to create a new BullGuard account: Allows you to create a new BullGuard account. This option appears only when BullGuard is installed for the first time on the computer. If another version has previously been installed on the computer, this option will be grayed out.
Yes, I already have a BullGuard account: If you already have a BullGuard account you can login with your account details and skip the account creation process. This option will be enabled by default if any BullGuard version has previously been installed on the computer.
Using same Bullguard account on other computers
All BullGuard Internet Security accounts can be used on up to three different computers at the same time. Users will need to upgrade their subscription if they need more than three computers protected with the same account.
Enter your e-mail: All BullGuard accounts are protected by a username and a password. When both registering a new account and logging in with an already existing account, users will need to provide the username. The username must be a valid e-mail address to which all BullGuard related e-mails (including payment confirmations or password reset emails) will be sent.
Your password: You are required to supply a password when both creating an account and simply logging in. BullGuard offers the option to create a random password for the user and will ensure that the password meets the standards needed for a strong password (such as numbers and capital letters). Note that users will need to remember the randomly generated password to be able to re-login if needed.
Forgotten password
If forgotten, the password can be reset at user request via an online password reset form at https://www.bullguard.com/my-account/passwordrecover.aspx. The password reset procedure will require the e-mail address used as username to be valid as the users will receive the password reset confirmation and activation links via email.
Login automatically: When enabled, it allows BullGuard to use the account credentials (username and password) provided at the previous login. This will automatically log the previous used account. If this option is disabled, users will need to login each time BullGuard starts.
I use a proxy connection: An option which enables users to configure the BullGuard login to use the existing proxy settings.
Subscribe to BullGuard newsletter: Choose whether to receive anewsletter from BullGuard. The newsletters have of wide range of topics from the IT world regarding new technologies, virus outbreaks or IT security information, tips and tricks or best practices.
View privacy policy: Informs you about private data collection and processing policies and shows that BullGuard is compliant with today’s standards in personal information management laws and agreements.
I’ll do it later: Allows you to skip the registration period and take advantage of the 7 days grace period during which they will be able to use BullGuard’s Antivirus and Spamfilter modules.
The grace period
The grace period is aimed at users that do not have an active internet connection when first installing BullGuard, and provides them with offline protection by allowing the use of the Antivirus. If no account is registered or logged in by the end of the 7 days period, BullGuard will be disabled providing no cover.
Create account: After entering all requested details (username, password and proxy server if needed), you will have to click on this button to finalize the account creation process. Clicking on this button will also login the newly created account.
When creating the account
When creating the account make sure you choose a valid -email address as username. This e-mail address will be used for relaying information regarding your account status, some payment details or virus related newsletters. Also, the username is used in the password recovery process.
When creating a password, make sure it is easy to remember while strong enough to ensure your account’s safety.
Note that the password is case sensitive which means that the application will differentiate between uppercase and lowercase letters. To create a strong password, remember to use a mix of lowercase and uppercase letters, numbers and symbols.
Because BullGuard provides a Backup service as well, it is vital that you do not share your account details. The username and password grant access to any information previously saved on the Online drive.
