BullGuard Firewall

A firewall will prevent any unauthorized access to your computer or reject unrequested connections.

Firewall overview window
Once BullGuard is installed, the Firewall can be accessed from the Main overview window - a shortcut to the Firewall Settings section where you can make adjustments to the module if you want to. Alternatively, click on the Firewall icon in the bottom half of the application interface.

Firewall is active/inactive
Shows whether the Firewall is enabled or disabled.

Application rules
Provides quick access to the Application rules tab where users can manage the list of applications that need to connect to their network.

Banned host
Shows any IP addresses currently blocked by the Firewall due to an attack and allows you to add or remove IPs to the banned list.

Network activity
Shows the list of processes currently using the network.

Firewall log
Displays an interactive table with all the network events logged by the module.

Firewall settings
Provides you with an advanced configuration option for the Firewall allowing you to open ports, create IP rules or edit the Firewall overall security level.

About Firewalls

A computer without an active Firewall can be attacked within the first minute of exposing it to a public network, such as the internet.

For a long time viruses were the main concern in terms of computer security. BullGuard Firewall. Main characteristics

The Firewall engine operates as a separate system service that allows you to have the Firewall operational even though the BullGuard application is not actually running, to secure the computer against network attacks. Thus, users will be protected against network attacks at all times.

The BullGuard Firewall features a reliable ‘intrusion detection system’ designed to protect the computer against network attacks. It also provides you with an application management system through which you can decide which programs may use their internet connection. The intrusion detection system provides protection against most types of network attacks and, when needed, can be altered to either increase or decrease the security level according to your needs.

The Firewall has access to a ‘Known Applications’ list for most Windows processes and commonly used applications. It will use this list to determine which applications to trust and automatically connect to the internet.
